Is Synect free right now?

Yes. While we're in invite-only preview, you pay nothing — Synect covers the AI provider tokens. We may rate-limit individual accounts if a user is, say, using 10× the average — we'll tell you in-app before that happens.

When do paid plans actually launch?

Stripe checkout for Creator + Pro + Team is targeted for summer 2026. We'll give 30+ days' notice in-app and via email, and let you export all your data before any paid plan kicks in. Existing preview users get 90 days of Creator grandfathered for free at launch — plenty of time to decide between Creator, Pro, BYOK, or walking away.

What happens to my account if I don't pay?

After the 90-day grandfathered Creator window expires, accounts auto-convert to BYOK. Everything chat-related keeps working — you just need to plug in your own provider API keys. Sparks become read-only (you can see your existing ones, can't run or edit them) until you upgrade to a paid plan.

What's the difference between BYOK and Starter?

BYOK is free forever, but you have to bring your own API keys for each provider. Starter is €10 / mo, gives you pooled (Synect-paid) keys across all 9 providers, and includes €5 / mo of API credit with pay-as-you-go top-ups when you need more. Both are chat-only — Sparks unlock starts at Creator.

Why are Sparks gated to Creator and above?

Sparks are where Synect's actual proprietary work lives — pipeline orchestration, the eval-judge, the marketplace, MCP integrations, the v6 power surface (delegation, Office-Aware reasoning, schedules, programmatic API). Chat is commoditized. Gating Sparks rather than gating models (which every competitor does) means a Starter user picking Opus pays the same per-token PAYG markup as a Pro user picking Opus — but the Pro user gets the full Spark workspace as part of their plan.

What is pay-as-you-go credit and how does it work?

Every paid plan ships with included monthly API credit (€5 / €15 / €40 for Starter / Creator / Pro). When you use it up, you don't hit a wall — you spend from your pay-as-you-go balance instead. Top up in one click from €5 / €20 / €50 / €100 packs. PAYG balance rolls over month-to-month and never expires; included monthly credit refreshes on the 1st. The markup (+20% Starter, +15% Creator, +10% Pro) is how Synect makes margin on tokens beyond your included amount — heavier users save real money by moving up a plan.

Can I set a hard spending cap?

Yes. Settings → Billing has a hard-cap toggle. Off by default (most users prefer continuous service); when on, we'll stop charging the moment your monthly spend hits your chosen ceiling and prompt you to top up or upgrade. The real-time spend meter in the chat composer footer always shows your remaining included credit + PAYG balance.

Why is Creator only €20 / mo annual when ChatGPT Plus is €20 / mo too?

Because Synect runs every model through one Auto router — Creator replaces the standalone subscriptions you'd otherwise need to pay for each provider separately, AND adds Sparks, the marketplace, integrations, and MCP on top. Annual Creator at €20 / mo is the same as ChatGPT Plus alone, but covers OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Perplexity, Cohere, Groq, ElevenLabs, Runway, and HeyGen at once. The unit economics work because not every user uses every model on every turn, and PAYG covers the heavy users who do.

Are prices in EUR or USD? What about VAT?

All Synect prices are in euros (EUR). We're launching first in Ireland and the wider European market, so checkout, top-ups, and invoices are EUR-denominated through Stripe. Irish + EU customers see VAT calculated and broken out on the invoice automatically (Stripe Tax handles the Irish VAT registration and reverse-charge logic for B2B). Customers outside the EU still pay the same EUR price with VAT exempt where applicable. We'll add USD as an alternative checkout currency for US / non-EU customers in a later release.

Can I bring my own API keys on a paid plan?

Yes. Every paid plan supports BYOK as a fallback — pooled keys are the default, and your own keys kick in when you exhaust both your included monthly credit and your PAYG balance. BYOK keys are stored encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM, platform-level key), per-provider, and never returned to the client after entry.

What's the difference between Creator and Pro?

Creator unlocks Sparks — consume, create, publish, marketplace, integrations, MCP, Spark Generator, Spark-aware Projects. Pro unlocks the v6 power surface on top: parallel pipelines + visual Pipeline UI, cross-Spark delegation (Sparks calling Sparks), Office-Aware reasoning over Excel + Word, Org Knowledge Search, Scheduled Sparks (cron + email/Slack/webhook delivery), the Programmatic Invoke API + Personal Access Tokens for headless automation, Spark Batch Runs, Spark Evals (text rubric + Visual Trust v1/v1.5), and full marketplace analytics. Plus Pro's PAYG markup is the lowest of any tier (+10% vs Creator's +15%) so heavy users save real money moving up.

What's included on Team that's not on Pro?

Org admin controls (lock the team to specific providers / quality tiers / media types), team-shared Sparks + Projects + Knowledge, Google SSO (SAML at GA), audit log export, included DPA, per-seat budgets, and one centralized invoice. Pro is solo-only — Team is for groups of 3+ that need shared resources and admin oversight. The 3-seat minimum keeps the price floor honest while leaving room for owner / co-founder / contractor trios.

What about an SLA?

No formal SLA on Starter or Creator. Pro and Team get 99.5 % uptime with credits; Enterprise is 99.9 %. Best-effort uptime everywhere; status at app.synect.ai/api/health. We sit on Vercel + Supabase, both of which have their own infrastructure SLAs we inherit.

Do you have a DPA / GDPR processor agreement?

Yes. Email privacy@synect.ai and we'll send a signable DPA. Available on request for Creator + Pro, included at signup for Team, and customizable on Enterprise. We're GDPR-aligned and process most data in the EU/EEA where possible (see our Privacy Policy for the full processor list).

What happens to my data if I delete my account?

Account deletion is immediate and irreversible. It removes your profile, all conversations, messages, files, Sparks, usage logs, storage uploads, BYOK keys, and PAYG credit balance (no refunds for unused credit per our terms). Browser-local Canvas history (in your localStorage) is yours to clear. Stripe billing records are retained per legal requirement (typically 7 years) but are not linked to product data after deletion.
